Ruben was born in Tampa, Florida on March 21, 1944. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University, New Jersey, with a Bachelor of Science degree in business management.
Ruben started his career at Martin Marietta corporate headquarters in NYC in 1962 as a purchasing agent. From there he went on to work at Cadogan Investments, Ltd. in Saddlebrook, NJ, in 1970 as general manager of Savinelli Pipes, Inc. In 1972, a new Savinelli Pipes, Inc. was formed which Ruben moved to Decatur, IN, and became C.E.O. He built a 10,000 square foot building in an industrial park in which he operated out of until 1986. He then moved the company to Morrisville, NC, and worked until he retired in 2012. He ran Savinelli for 42 years.
Ruben was a wine connoisseur. He visited and met many of the Napa Valley Winery owners such as Robert Mondavi, Sr., Judd Steele, and Francis Ford Coppula. He attended A Night to Remember dinners in NYC for 16 years in which high end wines were auctioned to raise money for prostate cancer. Ruben also loved to travel, especially to Italy where he spent time with good friends. He had the wonderful opportunity to watch the Grand Prix in Monte Carlo. After Ruben retired from Savinelli, he volunteered at RDU Airport guest services. He loved helping people and practicing his Spanish and Italian.
Ruben's greatest love was for his Lord and for his family. His strong faith in God and the prayers and support from his family and friends helped him through until the angels came for him. He will be missed.
