My sincere condolences to the Flynn family. I have many great memories of working alongside Ed at Midway Airlines. 

Having grown up in Springfield, Ed and I were in total agreement that THE best sandwich on earth, was the Sloppy Joe from the Millburn Deli. Years ago, he flew up for his induction into the MHS Football Hall of Fame. He returned to RDU with sandwich in hand for me. No one could believe a sandwich could weigh that much, surely there was brick in the bag! Of course, we cut it up and shared it with everyone present, to make them believers too. 

I will never forget Ed's
kindness, laughter, and his zest for living life.

Very sad when I heard just tonight of Ed's  passing. Some of my best memories in life are the many years we spent working together at K-mart. I learned so much from him, and had a lot of fun doing so. I have always greatly admired him and appreciated all he did, and taught me over those years. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Beth, Karen Pope here, I am in such disbelief that Mr.Flynn has passed away. I worked with him for many years at K-Mart. He was an unbelievable merchant. I learned so much from him in the retail field. So many memories good and not so good. My sincerest sympathy to you and the family.

Beth, my name is Dale Medlin and you probably remember Ed  talking about my Dad's store " North and South Station " across the street from K-Mart. I worked for Mr. Flynn as I called him for a few years and he  was the most real, what you see is what you get person that I had ever met. He taught me so much about people,business, and how to interact with your fellow man that I will never be able to repay him. My father absolutely loved E.J.Flynnn and that says a lot about him in my eyes. I am very sorry for your lose, if there is anything I can do please let me know.
