Dorothy Stell Alexander, affectionately known as Dot, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 30, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty years, Lelon C. Alexander. She was the only child of Robert and Hazel Stell of Rolesville. She is survived by two children, Rob Alexander and wife, Susan, and Kelly Alexander DeVane and husband, Ash; grandchildren, Ladd and Stone Alexander of Cary, and Tom and Alexander DeVane of Wilmington.
She graduated from Meredith College in 1953 with a degree in Business Education. After graduation, she taught at Cary High School. Lifetime friendships were made through teaching, and leading recreation at Mayview. Her church family was also dear to her.
Her dedication and devotion to her family was her passion, and she will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 12, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the home of Rob and Susan Alexander. A private family graveside service will be held in Rolesville at a later date.
