I am so sorry to hear about Don.  He was my mother's gardener for many years.  When I visited my mother, Gerda Pleasants, we talk would about gardening and how much he loved his family.  He really had a gift in making peoples yards look beautiful and he saved many plants from being destroyed when a house was torn down in Cary.  Luckily I still have some plants that he gave me.  I will miss him.

We are so sorry to hear about Don.  Thinking of you at this time. 

Sorry I am out of town and unable to come by today, but my thoughts and prayers are with you.  Enjoyed very much talking to Don when I walked the dog. Remember  him bringing the kids by on Halloween. He will truly be missed by all of his friends. He was a pleasure to know.

Dear Matt, Mattie and Meg,
Your daddy and husband was a spectacular, creative, giving, loving, faithful, Christian man, and your lives will ALWAYS be blessed by his legacy to yours. He sacrificed every day to give to his family, especially to you three, but also incredibly to Grandma Jo, his mom, and his sister, Lisbeth, both in pain of their own. He looked to and did make miracles happen, even when his life was touched by his own sadness and difficult, hard to manage physical health. Even in those he thought of you, missed you, did what he could for you. He was precious ALWAYS on earth and still is in God's Heart with our mom and sister. 
I pray with my fullest heart that you find it in YOUR hearts to recall the many, many, many happy times there were being with him, the magical holidays, vacation trips, the precious gifts, the tickles and giggles from childhood, the parties, the earth digging with him, the swinging in your custom built backyard playset, the beauty he brought into your lives not just with plants but so much more, and the things he gave up for you, forebore for you especially when you faced your own struggles and pains.
Remember these things. Do NOT forget them. Love Don always, hold him in highest esteem in your hearts and memories even as he held you in his. Your lives are graced for having Don be there for you. Count your blessings, dear ones, more than your loss, even as I am trying to do in his death. Donald Eugene Risser, Jr. , precious person in life and death"!!!
