Deloris (Tiny) Thomas Garska, 96, passed away on September 6, 2020 at Transitions LifeCare. She was born on March 18, 1924 in Morgantown, West Virginia to William Clarence Thomas and Golda Ruth Rose Thomas.
Deloris was married to the late Burnarr William Garska. They had four children. Their son, William Edward Garska, passed away at age 72 on April 1, 2020.
Deloris is survived by three daughters: Linda Garska; Coleen Reavis and spouse, Doug Reavis; and Carolyn Woolard and spouse, Glenn Woolard. In addition, she is survived by 11 grandchildren: Chad Williams; Heather Hall; Tara Whitehead; Bryan Garska and spouse, Debra Garska; Christy Fisher and spouse, Byron Fisher; Blair Reavis; Bradley Reavis and spouse, Angie Reavis; David Woolard and spouse, Kaitlyn Woolard; Brandon Woolard and spouse, Rachel Woolard; Brittany Riley and spouse, Jon Riley; Nathan Woolard and spouse, Julianna Woolard; 21 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and 9 great-great grandchildren with one on the way.
Deloris, nicknamed Tiny, surrounded herself by loving family. She loved her children and grandchildren and had a special relationship with each.
Tiny was first a homemaker and later worked at Burtons as a salesperson. She always loved children; therefore, decided to start a day care in her home. She cared for many children over the years. Tiny was a kindhearted person who welcomed anyone in her home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Deloris’ honor to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, N C 27607. Deloris was under hospice care for 6 months prior to her passing. Her daughters want to thank Transitions LifeCare for the excellent care given to their mother.
