Connie Marie Adams

Connie is preceded in death by her parents J.D. and Theo Adams of Cary; she is survived by her son Adam Kennedy and wife Grace of Fuquay-Varina; brother Duane of Cary; and brother Steven, wife Julie, and niece and nephew Lainie and Jackson of Apex; and former husband Wade Kennedy of Cary. She is also survived by her dear aunt and caretaker Peggy Padgett of Raleigh; aunt Clair Rosencrantz of St. Louis, MO, aunt Mary Alice Thomas of Charlotte, NC and many cousins.

Connie was born in Jacksonville, NC at Camp Lejeune Marine Base on November 24, 1953 to J.D. and Theo Adams. She had Adam, the apple of her eye, in 1988. Connie opened and ran a successful hair salon called Headquarters Hair Salon and was a successful cosmetologist for over 40 years. In recent years she managed a family-owned business. Connie was Theo’s caretaker towards the end of her life, always with great love, patience and grace.

Connie loved the beach and Elvis. She was a great influence on Steven’s musical abilities, introducing him to guitar and the Beatles. She doted on Adam, Lainie (her mini me) and Jackson; and her Boston Terriers Maggie Mae and Phoebe

The family would like to thank Matthew Mcnally for helping to care for Connie in her final months; we would also like to thank Dr. Amanda Sherrod with UNC Cancer Healthcare for care and compassion.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC, 27511; with memorial service immediately afterwards.
