Clementine Turner Maynard, a devout Christian and beloved Wife and Mother, was born in Fairmont, NC, Robeson County, on April 20, 1935. Her parents, Mack Turner and Francis McQueen Turner, raised seven girls and one son.
Clementine, along with her siblings, grew up in rural Robeson County and worked with their parents on a sublet farm. She graduated from Fairmont High School in 1953, where she was an award-winning Cheerleader. She continued her education at Campbell College, where she received her associate's degree in arts in 1955.
Clementine was employed at Durham Life as a secretary for 6 years after college until she experienced motherhood and became a homemaker. After her children got old enough, she was hired by Bell South and worked for them for ten years as a dispatcher, coupled with other clerical duties. She also tried her hand in Real Estate Sales.
Clementine's faith was established at a young age by attending Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Fairmont, followed by her membership at First Baptist Church in Cary, NC, and ultimately at Westwood Baptist Church in Cary, NC, where she sang in the choir.
Clementine is predeceased in death by her parents, her sisters Mirra Smith, Doris Floyd, Dora McDonald, Maxie Leigh, and Janice Outland, as well as her brother Horristene Turner.
Clementine is survived by her husband of 68 years, John Raoul Maynard, her two children, Jeff Maynard (Betsy Lynne) and Allison Bain (Hal), her sister Sarah Almblad, and five grandchildren, Michael Ryan Ramos (Alexandra), John Forrest Maynard, Rachel Anne Brown (Andrew), Anna Grace Noble (Chase), and Kyle Martin Bain (Hannah). Addiontionally, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Clementine’s life on this Earth ended on April 4, 2025, after a multiple-year fight with Dementia. Our love for her has never wavered and never will. Enjoy Heaven until we meet again….
A memorial service and gathering of friends will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers a contribution to Tameka Bazemore, in care of Allison Bain, 140 Whit Court, Angier NC 27501, to continue care for our Father.
