Charles Edward Forry, age 88, of Cary, North Carolina passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024. He was born to the late John Veritas and Emma Jane Forry on July 2, 1935 in Hanover, PA. Charlie was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jacqueline June Forry, of 67 years.
Charlie was full of knowledge gained through his life experiences in various areas of construction that included building, carpentry, roofing and site preparation. He could fix or build almost anything. Since he was a little boy, Charlie had dreamed of building his own house and the skills he had acquired enabled him to make his dream a reality – not once, but twice. He loved working with his hands and physically building a life his family loved. He was a devoted father and grandfather who looked forward to visits from his grandkids and instilled in them a love and appreciation for enjoying food that they grew with their own hands. He had a healthy way of balancing family and work life, all while teaching his four sons how to be Godly men of honesty, integrity, and respect.
While he enjoyed building, he was always a farmer at heart. He took pride in working on his 7-acre property in Wesley Chapel, Florida. He loved planting his garden with corn, tomatoes, onions, carrots, cucumbers, squash, and his favorite – watermelon! His hobbies included collecting coins, throwing horseshoes, and acquiring old and unusual tools. He looked forward to attending craft fairs to get ideas for homemade projects. He enjoyed camping with family, riding a sheet of plywood while being pulled by a 4-wheeler, and butchering hogs while teaching his sons and daughters-in-law how to make mouthwatering sausage. In later years, he took great joy in raising goats - twice as many as his wife knew about.
Charlie was the most loving husband and father a family could ask for. He touched the lives of so many people. He will truly be missed and will never, ever, be forgotten.
Charlie is survived by his devoted children, Jay Forry (Dorothy), of Wesley Chapel, FL; Carl Forry (Linda), of Lititz, PA; Marvin Forry (Deb), of Cary, NC; and Dale Forry, of Lititz, PA. Grandchildren, Timothy Forry, Yolanda Coates, Jeremy Keller, Brandon Keller, Jeffrey Keller, Michelle Ternak, David Forry, Tifany Cassel and his numerous great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 11:00 am at Dub's Church Cemetery in Hanover, PA.
