Raised in Dunwoody, GA and a graduate of Georgia Tech in the field of Chemical Engineering, Carl spent much of his life focusing on family and work. He worked as an engineer and sales manager at MeadWestvaco for 33 years to support his family: his wife of 48 years, Barbara, and his children, Nicholaas and Jonathan.
As a husband and father, he was always there for advice, he was forever present in anything large or small in his family’s life. He didn’t miss a game, and there was always coconut cake when it was needed. He enjoyed golfing, reading, cooking, and fishing. Golfing, whether it was multiple rounds in a day, or hitting a few hundred balls at the range, was always time enjoyed. He was always quick to draw parallels with golf and life, discipline and creativity.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Nicholaas and Jonathan and their wives, Kris and Lisa; and grandchildren, Reilly, Ryan, Blake, Luke, and Wyatt.
He was the rock of the family, and will be gravely missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Services will be private.
