Bruce was born on September 25, 1949 in Rapid City, SD. He attended both Stanford and Dartmouth Universities, eventually graduating in 1973. While at Dartmouth, he met a young nursing student named Pam and they married a year later. After graduating, they moved to Burlington and eventually built a house in Milton, VT.
Soon after, Bruce started working for the city of Burlington and then General Electric in human resources. With GE, Bruce worked in Burlington, VT; Louisville, KY; and Utica, NY. He left GE reluctantly in 1992 to take a job in Binghamton, NY with Universal Instruments, which allowed him to travel to the Far East. When Universal closed its doors, he took a job with Qualex which brought him to Durham, NC. Qualex also closed its doors and he took a job with Penske in Reading, PA.
He then embarked on a new journey with The Pantry, which brought them back to Holly Springs, NC. He later left The Pantry after securing a job with the State of North Carolina. As you can, Bruce was proud of his work and supporting his family. He also liked spending time outdoors.
Bruce retired in 2015 and spent his retirement hiking and clearing trails in parks near Holly Springs with his wife and visiting with his grandchildren.
Bruce is predeceased by his parents, Mabel and Robert and his brother, Paul.
He is survived by his wife Pamela (Whitehill), son David (Rowenna), daughter Erika Bergeron (Matthew), brother James and sister Susan Cipperly.
Private services to be held a future date.
