Benjy enjoyed spending time with family, going on outings, he enjoyed good food, especially coke and tea. He enjoyed face-timing with family on his iPad.
He never knew a stranger. He always spoke to anyone he saw by saying good morning and waving at them. He would want to shake their hand or give them a fist bump.
Growing up he always appreciated the comics and the ads in the Sunday paper.
He loved crazy socks and graphic tees!
He enjoyed spending time with his mom and going to the beach and the mountains.
Because Benjy was born with Down syndrome he inspired his sister and brother-n-law to begin the special needs ministry at The Shepherd’s Church. His niece is also a special needs teacher with Gaston County schools.
For the last 28 years Benjy lived at the Rockwood Group Home in Raleigh, NC.
Here he loved dancing, celebrations, riding in the van, singing.
He was preceded in death by his parents (Jim and Willie Mae Robinson). He is survived by his sisters Glenda and Mandy, brother Scott, and their spouses and families.
There will be a service to celebrate his life on Friday, December 31st at 3 pm at The Shepherd’s Church, 6051 Tryon Road in Cary, NC. The service will be in the parlor. Please use the Holly Springs Road parking lot entrance.
