Ada Braswell Dalla Pozza

Ada B. Dalla Pozza, Nana, 91, went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 31, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Wadesboro, NC to the late Victor Brent Braswell and Cornelia Maude Smith Braswell and was preceded in death by her husband Martin Gabriel Dalla Pozza, son, James Franklin Dalla Pozza and grandson, Michael Joseph Dalla Pozza.

Ada was the State Leader for the NC Extension of Home Economics. For over 70 years she served as an educator to thousands of families and individuals through her work. She received numerous awards and accolades throughout her professional career including, The National Association of Extension Family and Consumer Services Distinguished Service Award, the NCSU Alumni Merit Award, and induction into the NCSU Hall of Fame for Family and Consumer Sciences. Ada was also a founding member and dedicated servant to the Parish of Saint Michael’s Catholic Church in Cary for over 50 years.

She is survived by her son, Martin Joseph Dalla Pozza and wife, Gayle; daughter-in-law Brenda; 3 granddaughters, Melissa, Renee’, and Michelle; 8 great grandchildren, Brandon, James, Lilly, Lauren, Samuel, Leah, Jesse, and Joseph; 1 great-great grandchild, Landyn.

The family will receive visitors at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary on Monday, February 3 from 6-8PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church in Cary on Tuesday, February 4 at 10AM with burial to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the charity of your choice in honor of Ada.
