Rat was born on February 6, 1933 in Fairmount, GA, son of the late Harley Crider and Elmira Kimbrell Crider.
Rat retired from Lockheed Martin after nineteen years, where he fabricated parts for the C130 and the C141 Starlifter. He also had a lifelong career as a broker in real estate and real estate development. He was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and a proud member of Oak Hill Baptist Church, Rydal, Ga, where he led the church singing. He also sang in several gospel quartets and was an amazing bass singer. After his retirement, he hit the road and never let off of the throttle on his Harley. He loved his garden and thought he had to plant enough vegetables to feed all of Bartow County. He taught his grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to garden and carry on the tradition. The joy of his life was spending quality time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty years, Martha Jean Temples Crider; son, William Brian Crider; siblings, Doyle Crider, Helen DeFoor, Jerry Crider and Sarah Johnson.
Survivors include his daughter, Christy (Jody) Bryson; son, Mark (Juli) Crider; grandchildren, Olivia (Peter) Quezada, Jay (Paige) Camp, Gracie Camp and Isabella Crider; great-grandchildren, Kimi Quezada, Venice Quezada, Salem Quezada, Calvin Camp and Morgan Guinn; brothers, Shine (Bea) Crider and Grady (Sue) Crider.
