Thomas R. Ruff

Thomas R. Ruff, 74, of Cartersville, GA, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Thomas was born on October 28, 1945 in Dallas, GA, son of Roy and Mary Ruff and raised by the late Bill and Ruby Hovirs and Mary Frances Hilburn.

Thomas was a devoted husband, loving father, and good friend. He owned Ruff's Body Shop for many years. Thomas loved racing, gardening, and fishing. He was an antique car enthusiast. He and his wife, Patricia enjoyed spending time in the mountains. Thomas will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Frances Hilburn, Bill and Ruby Hovirs, brothers; W.R. Ruff, Leroy Ruff, and Lemon Ruff.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Morris Ruff, daughter, Amanda Dawn Ruff Wiley, sister, Martha Jane Perry, special nephew, Cary Morris, nephew, Mitchell Ruff, special sister-in-law, Carolyn Burgess, special brother-in-law, Gary L. Morris, dear friend, Jimmy Kay and special friend, May McFarland. Many nieces and nephews also survive to cherish his memory.

A Celebration of Thomas's Life will be conducted in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at two o'clock in the afternoon with the Revs. Kenny Jacobs and Don Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oak Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Junior Ruff, Richard Ruff, Robbie Perry, Jimmy Whitten, Owen Ruff, and Mitchell Ruff. Serving ae honorary pallbearers will be Cary Morris and Jimmy Kay.

The family will receive friends at Owen Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from five o'clock in the evening until eight.
