Terry Lee Lindsey was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on October 13, 1944, to Beecher Frank and Eva Mae (Klepper) Lindsey. He completed his high school education in Clyde, North Carolina and graduated from Berea College in Berea, Kentucky. It was there that he met his wife of almost 56 years, Jean Peters Lindsey. Terry built a successful career in the aerospace industry, working for companies such as Goodyear, Loral and Meggit. His family eventually settled in Cedartown, Georgia. Terry was a fixture in the community there - always helping with youth and church activities, never missing a game or event for his kids, Steve Lindsey and Kathy (Lindsey) Mosley. Upon retirement, Terry and Jean found their piece of paradise on the lake. They spent many beautiful days on their houseboat at Lake Allatoona. Terry loved the water, whether it was kayaking, riding the Seadoo with the grandkids or just floating leisurely with friends from the dock, he was always present. His favorite time was watching the sunset with those he cared about. And those people number too many to count. Terry was an amazing husband, father, son, grandfather and friend. His reach was far but he was always close - always in the moment - always making those around him feel like that minute of time was the most important. He will be missed by so many.
Terry is survived by his mother, Eva Lindsey; his wife, Jean Peters Lindsey; sister, Sally Summey; brother Ernie (Melba) Lindsey; son Steve (Cynthia) Lindsey; daughter Kathy (Scott) Mosley; grandchildren Lauren Mosley, Morgan Lindsey, Andrew Lindsey and Kristen Mosley; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
