Sandra "Sam" Chambers

Sam was born on May 13, 1953 in Minneapolis, MN, daughter of the late Eugene L. Smith and Ruby Nell Hughes Smith.

Sam was employed with Wal-Mart in Cartersville for over ten years as a sales associate and switch board operator. She loved to spend her spare time crocheting blankets, gardening and canning food. She was a proud and active member of First Baptist Church of Cartersville.

She is preceded in death by her husband of twelve years, Charles Forrest Chambers; brother, Michael Ray Smith.

Survivors include her mother, Nancy Smith of Cartersville; daughter, Becky Stewart (John) of Euharlee; son, Jimmy Carlisle of Cartersville; sister, Lucille Hanks of Acworth; sister-in-law, Gerri Smith; Step-sisters, Rebecca Straub (Jeff), Joy Carlisle (Randy) and Jamie Azar (Sam); grandchildren, Triston Carlisle and Jimmy Carlisle, Jr.; several nieces and nephews; loving aunts and uncles in Alabama.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at one o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, March 12, 2015 in the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Mansfield officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held for two hours prior to service time at Owen Funeral Home.
