Robert Eugene (Gene) Cantrell

Mr. Cantrell was born September 13, 1929 in Bartow County, a son of the late William McKinley Cantrell and Mamie Young Cantrell. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, member of the Cartersville Lodge #63 F&AM, and retired from Lockheed Martin Aircraft.

Mr. Cantrell is survived by his wife, Myrtle Gentry Cantrell, his children, Tony & Peggy Cantrell, Ken & Robin Cantrell, Glenn & Rhonda Baker, Gary & Shelly Baker, his sister Mary Evelyn McLaughlin, ten grandchildren: Kristi Faulkner, Kinley, Noah and Lily Cantrell, Christopher and Kaylan Baker, Joshua and Seth Baker, Connor and Kayla Bryant, four great grandchildren: Caine Southworth & Tiffany Faulkner, Jackson & Virginia Baker, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jennie Lee Brown Cantrell and two brothers, Glenn and Clarence Cantrell.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 27, 2014 from the Chapel of the Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Kennesaw Memorial Park, with full Masonic Rites observed.

Pallbearers will be Noah and Kinley Cantrell, Christopher Baker, Connor Bryant, Joshua and Seth Baker and Caine Southworth.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Scottish Rite Children's Hospital, Atlanta, Ga.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. Friday.
