Mrs. Patsy Ann Gentry Harris, age 76, of Kingston, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Patsy was born in Cartersville, Georgia on July 12, 1947, a daughter to the late Ray and Jo Dell Hubbard Gentry.
Patsy grew up in Kingston where she would reside the majority of her life. She met the love of her life, Tommy Harris, while in high school and the two married on July 31, 1965. Patsy worked for the Bartow County School System for several years, retiring in 1992 to help raise her grandchildren. She was always faithful in serving The Lord, especially during her husband's ministry. While the two pastored Taylorsville Baptist Church, Patsy started the Food Pantry Ministry, taught AWANA’s, served in the Women of Mission program, and sang in the choir. Though her accomplishments were many, Patsy was known for two things- her unwavering faith and her unmatched adoration for her grandchildren. From birth until Kindergarten, Patsy kept all five grandchildren while their parents worked. She never missed a ball game or letting the referee know when they made a bad call. She definitely earned the title, The "World’s Greatest Grandmomma". Patsy lived a long beautiful life always being her most authentic self. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Patsy will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Along with her parents, Patsy is preceded in death by her in-laws, James Wesley and Etta Harris; brother-in-law, Alton Harris (Betty Jo); and daughter-in-law, Jill Harris.
Patsy is survived by her loving husband of fifty-eight years, Tommy Harris; two sons, Glenn Harris (Jenna) and Eric Harris (Andrea Salmon); seven grandchildren, Austin Harris (Amanda), Denver Harris (Courtney), Braden Harris (Kereston), Whitney Harris (Tyler Wissing), Carson Harris, Katie Gee (Will), and Karlie Abernathy; six great grandchildren, Haddon Lee Harris, Kensley Parker Harris, Maddox Ray Harris, Jordan Thomas Harris, Waikes Callan Harris, and Addison Lane Gee; two siblings, Sandra Brownlow and Larry Gentry (Jeannie); brother in law, Lamar Harris; a very special aunt, Sonja Fields; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.
