Mary Elizabeth Cook

Mrs. Cook was born November 11, 1918 in Bartow County, the daughter of the late Walter and Sara Frances (Gillam) Leake, was a retired School teacher after 37 years, was a member of the Magnolia Garden Club, was a Pink Lady at the Cartersville Medical Center Gift Shop for many years and was member of First Baptist Church where she was in the WMU for 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Emmett Lee Cook and sisters, Ruth Cross and Catherine Petty.

Surviving is her daughter, Frances Cook of Atlanta, her son, Walt Cook of Waleska, granddaughters, Julie and her husband, Kenneth LeSesne and Amanda and her husband, Peter Brown, all of Waleska, great grandchildren, Logan LeSesne and Peyton Brown and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Brandon officiating.

Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon from 12:00-2:00 p.m.
