Mary Ruth Allison

Mrs. Allison was born April 25, 1949 in Gordon County, the daughter of the late, Diner and Effie Louise (Smith) Townsend. She was retired from Union Carbide and was a member of Salacoa Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Tom, Frank and Clarence Townsend and a sister, Edna Cornwell.

Surviving is her husband, John Henry Allison of Cartersville, daughters and sons in law, Myra and Michael Bennett of Cartersville, Melissa and Tommy Cagle of Rydal, grandchildren, Kevin Adams, Megan Adams, Emily Cantrell, Trent Williams and Mallory Williams, three great grandchildren, sister and brother in law, Joann and Paul Duvall of Cartersville and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 17, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Hoyt Jones officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Burial will follow in Salacoa Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Cagle, Michael Bennett, Trent Williams, Kevin Adams, Cameron Duvall and Wayne Duvall.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
