Martha F. Gravitt

Mrs. Martha Faye Bailey Young Gravitt, 77, of Cartersville, GA passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at her home. Martha was born in Cartersville on June 10, 1943 to the late Mr. Roy Baily and Mrs. Jennie Mae Hollis Bailey.

Martha was a devoted wife and loving mother. She worked for Goodyear Tires for many years before her retirement. Martha was a devout Christian and a member of The Church at Liberty Square where she served a s a volunteer at the Harvest House for 12 years. She enjoyed good gospel singings and taking care of her yard. Martha will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Talmadge Young, and her second husband, Jerry Gravitt, brother, James Alvin Bailey, sisters; Lucy Bailey, Dorothy Hall and sister-in-law, Johnnie Mae Bailey and brother-in-law, Tommy Hall.

Martha is survived by her daughter Carla (Jack Mathews) Ferguson, grand - daughter, Monica (Jacob) McDonald of Ohio. Siblings; Wesley Bailey, and Ethel (Jerry) Knight. Two nieces and many nephews also survive to cherish Martha's memory.

A celebration of Martha's life will be conducted in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at two o'clock in the afternoon. Interment will follow the service at Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Rydal. Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews.

The family would like to send a most sincere thank you to her precious friends ,who know who they are, that helped her through her final months.
