Margaret P Smith

Margaret “Bodge” P. Smith, of Cartersville, GA stepped into glory on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the ripe old age of 101. She was born to Walter Moore Parker and Cornelia Jenkins Parker on April 4, 1921. She was married to William D. Smith for 58 years before his passing in 2002.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Joel Parker (Mary) and sister, Mildred Parker. Margaret was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by her children, Alan (Mary) Smith, Judy (Larry) Kelly, Billy (Lynn) Smith; grandchildren, Molly Smith, Cari (Blake) Fleeman, Erin (Jason) Gaskins, Zack (Stacey) Smith, Hannah Smith and her fiancée Conner Nalley; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Bodge was devoted to her church, family and friends. She loved playing rummy-o and spent many hours around the dining table with friends and family.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Janice Parker, Stephanie Price and Fredda Flowers for making Mom’s final days peaceful.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at White Methodist Church with Rev. Andrew Stone and Rev. Keith Willard officiating. The interment will follow at White Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the church from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Margaret’s memory to White Methodist Church.
