Lynda was born in Selma, Alabama on January 6, 1947 to the late Joseph R. and Fannie Lou Harris Godwin. She is preceded in death by her sister Madya Billingsley.
Lynda is survived by her husband of 57 years, David McDanel of Rydal, Georgia and daughter, Cynthia Hill of Montgomery, Alabama.
She was such a sweet friend. Lynda brought so much joy and happiness to everyone she met. Her infectious smile and enormous personality could fill a room. Lynda leaves behind so many precious memories that will be cherished for many years to come.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 1pm from the chapel of Owen Funeral Home. Gathering of family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service. Lynda will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lynda’s honor to Etowah Valley Humane Society, 36 Ladds Mountain Rd, Cartersville, GA 30120.
