Lucyna Kubicka Wilder, age 95, went to be with the Lord September 5, 2020. Lucy was born in Kalisz, Poland and was a WWII survivor and war bride. Lucy married Doyle Wilder, who was in the US Army in Germany and came to the United States where she became a citizen. She and Doyle raised their four children in Jamestown, Alabama. She enjoyed music and played the accordion and harmonica to the delight of her family and friends, and telling her life story and how she was fortunate to work for the American army, meeting her husband and having an amazing wedding among the army and friends. She never met a stranger and her faith was very strong. She will be remembered as our most beloved Mother and dearest friend and how much she loved her family, always putting them first. She will be missed greatly.
Lucy was preceded in death by her loving husband Doyle. She is survived by her children, Leila Brewer of Montgomery, AL; Glenda White (Robert) of Duluth, GA; Doyle Robert “Bobby” Wilder (Elaine) of Cartersville, GA; Nola Jean Humphries of Kingston, GA; grandchildren, Joel Brewer, Curtis Brewer, Misty Eve Eubanks; Drew White, Jason White; Stephanie Wilder; Wesley Humphries, Ginger Humphries-Hasek; and several great-grandchildren.
Lucy will Lie-In-State on Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 11:00 AM until 6:00 PM. The interment will be at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
