Linda Sue Massey

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Sue Massey, of Rydal, Georgia who went to be with the Lord on September 29, 2023, at the age of 68. She was born in Springfield, Missouri on December 1, 1954.

She was a devoted woman of God, who loved the Lord most of all, her family, and friends. She grew up on a Grade A dairy farm, was a loving and caring wife to Mark, mother to Samuel, and dog grandma to Bear. She loved to spend her time at church preparing and running sound for Sunday services, and working with children at VBS. She loved to travel, crochet, was adventurous, and was very competitive; loving to play games with family and friends.

Linda is survived by her husband, Marcus E. Massey; son, Samuel E. Massey, grand dog, Bear Massey, brother-in-law, Michael E. Massey, four nieces, and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Hunt, mother, Marjorie Hunt, and brother, Edward Hunt.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 5pm until 8pm at Owen Funeral Home for visitation. A second visitation will be from 11am to 12 noon prior to the Celebration of Life service at Rowland Springs Baptist Church.

The Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Rowland Springs Baptist Church 79 Rowland Springs Rd SE, Cartersville, GA 30121 with Pastors Joe Ringwalt and A.T. Stewart officiating. The interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Park 2000 Marietta Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.
