LaWanda Ann Martin

LaWanda was born on Febraury 12, 1952 in Dallas, GA, daughter of James Edward McGinnis and Mary Magdalene Hite McGinnis.

LaWanda was a longtime, successful and award winning real estate agent in Bartow County. She also served on the Bartow County School Board for four years. In her spare time she enjoyed going on cruises with her loving husband of forty-eight years, Kenneth Martin and tending to her flower gardens. The joy of her life was spending quality time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She was a true servant of the Lord and a proud member of Stamp Creek Baptist Church.

LaWanda is preceded in death by her father, James Edward McGinnis; brother, Dale McGinnis.

Survivors include her mother, Mary McGinnis; husband, Kenneth Martin; sons, Christopher Martin and Corey (Carrie) Martin; grandchildren, Will Martin, Parker Martin and Sara Beth Martin; brother, David McGinnis; nieces, Kristy Fitzgerald and Kacy Bennett.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 7th of May, 2021 in the chapl of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Corey Martin and Rev. Travis Davis officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Parker Martin, Will Martin, Mark Rakestraw, Brandon Rollins, Vann Vaughan, Kyle Hartsook.

Honorary pallbearers are Pam Corriher, Tammy Frith, Judy Hargett, Sarah Howell, Carlene Perry and the late Tina Archer.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o'clock in the evening until nine on Thursday, the 6th of May, 2021 at Owen Funeral Home and also from eleven in the morning until the service hour on Friday.
