Julie was born June 17, 1958 in Cobb County, the daughter of Jimmy and Frances Bingham and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She began her career as a secretary at Lipscomb/Mack Watkins Agency. She was also employed as an Executive Secretary at Lockheed for 15 years. Her most recent employment was The Cut Above Salon in Cartersville where she greeted each customer with her warm smile. Julie always made everyone feel at home when they visited, was devoted to her family, always put her children first and expressed that they were the love of her life and loved animals and nature. Most of all, Julie loved the Lord and studied his word faithfully.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 27 years, Michael Ray, children, Natalie Ray Gunn, James Michael Ray and Christen Julia Ray, a grandchild, River Gunn, her parents, Jimmy and Frances Bingham, sister and brother in law, Stephanie and Jody Collum, brother and sister in law, David and Tammy Bingham and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Wilson and Rev. Jeff Duvall officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be James Ray, Grant Bingham, Dane Richards, Steve Brown, Tony Monroe, Lamar Wilson, Brian Bearden and Chaz Bragg. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Curl and Jim Owens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Flowering Branch Children’s Home, 49 Monroe Crossing S.E., Cartersville, Georgia 30120.
