Joy Lewis May

Joy was born August 12, 1951 in Cartersville the daughter of the late James and Millie Lewis.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 25 years, Dr. Robert W. May, Jr.

Survivors include her sisters and brother-in-laws, Bobby & Larry Davis, June and Ron Goss, Jan and Jim Boland and Jimmye Hammonds; nieces and nephews, Dawn Heisler, Ross and Katie Davis, Ron and Lorie Goss, Misty and David McBrayer, Adam Belcher, Evan and Tucker Hammonds, Craig Milsap and Heather Wilson; long time family friend, Phillip Dodson. Joy was known as “Candy Girl”, to her great nieces and nephews, Jordan and Aaron Hood, Michael, Lauren, and Calloway Goss, Gunner Millsap and Maggie McBrayer.

Funeral Services were held 11:00 Am, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home with the Rev. Jody Cagle officiating and Ron Goss, Jr. delivering the eulogy. Burial immediately followed from Sunset Memory Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers were Ross Davis, Michael Goss, Adam Belcher, David McBrayer, Evan Hammonds, Tucker Hammonds, Jordan Hood, Aaron Hood, Phillip Dodson and Craig Milsap.

Honorary junior pallbearers were Gunner Millsap and Calloway Goss.

The family received friends 5:00 Pm until 7:00 PM, Monday November 25, 2013 at Owen Funeral Home.
