John Paul Jones

Mr. Jones was born January 21, 1942 in Talbort County, Georgia son of the late Saxon Jones and Maggie Oneal Jones. He was a Magistrate Judge of Bartow County, was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of Cartersville First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Johnson Jones on May 9, 2010.

Survivors include his children, Robert Saxon Jones, and wife, Lana Highfield Jones and John Ryan Jones, and wife, Julia Johnson Jones; grandchildren, Bennett Ryan Jones, Margaret Grey Jones and Owen Robert Jones also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday evening January 3rd at 6:00 P.M. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeremy Morton officiating. Interment will be held Saturday, January 4th at 1:00 P.M. at Oakland Baptist Church Cemetery in Rutledge, TN. With Rev. Stacy Lawson officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service and from 7:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday evening.

Pallbearers include Robert S. Jones, John R. Jones, Roger Day, George Nhart, Anthony Minnich and Donny Williams.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Cartersville First Baptist Church or to the Gideons.
