Jimmie Dean "Animal" Gentry, born April 12, 1966 in Kingston, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on February 1 at 7:41 am. He was 55 years old. Jimmie was proud to serve as Military Police in the Army and later joined the National Guard from which he received an honorable discharge at the end of his career. He enjoyed telling Dad jokes, listening to his son, Elijah, play piano and in the marching band, fishing, guns, hanging out with his friends and riding his Harley. He was employed by Taylor Transport for several years and made many lifelong friends there.
Jimmie is the son of Ralph Calvin and Betty Jean Gentry. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Grady and Laura Gentry. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 21 years, Kristie Dawn Gentry. He is also survived by his brother Donald (Elaine) Gentry, sister Donna Lowery, sons Jacob Baker, Tyler (Morgan) Gentry, Elijah Gentry, his bonus daughter-in-law Beth Crowell and is PopPop to several grandchildren: Ila Grace, Haleigh, Maxim, Luca, Emmeline, Carleigh, Violet and Tyson; sister-in-law Robin (Randy) Oney, mother-in-law Sue Jacobs, best friend Greg "Hustler" Adams and many other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, friends and loved ones.
Jimmie was one of a kind and loved by everyone who met him. He considered Euharlee Baptist Church his home church where services will be conducted to honor and celebrate his life.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday February 5, beginning at 11:00 am and a Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm with Bradley Baker officiating. Pallbearers include Greg "Hustler" Adams, Dale "Gomer" Holcomb, Ryan Shahan, Jack Furness, Frank Edwards, Greg King, Jeff "Bodine" Senft and Jeff Wilbur. He will be laid to rest at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia at 2:30 pm on Monday, February 28, 2022.
