Sure do miss my cousin Jamie Matthews. It has been 1 year since his passing. Just want to say God bless his family in Georgia, Texas and abroad. We miss you big cousin and await the day to be with you in Heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ in blessed peace 🕊️💟. Love always your little cousin Eric Hurst.


Jamie was my best friend we had a lot of good times together over the years he was like a brother to me and I am going to truly mis his smile and his sense of humor but he is in a better place now. RIP my friend and I will see you again some day.

It was so sad to learn of Jammie's death.   May God's love bring peace and comfort to the family.

I have alot of fond memories at work and fishing, jammie had quite the sense of humor. After knowing jammie for four years just to many great memories to list them. God speed my friend.

When Jammie and I met, I was not in a good place in my life but Jammie and I had an instant connection and I have loved him since day one. He brought love and happiness into my life again at a time when I thought it would be impossible. I am so grief-stricken and at the same time so happy that I could bring some of that same love and joy to his, even if it was for way too short of a time. I am so thankful for my time with Jammie. He wasn't my first love or my longest but he is definitely the greatest love of my life. I will always love and remember him. 

Hard to believe life can be taken away in a moment. Lots of great memories over the many many years. You'll be missed by so many. 

This is Your younger cousin Eric here, David's little brother. I'm still in shock as well but I know you are safe in the arms of the Lord and in his angels wings. I will miss you at family reunions and getting to throw the baseball and football with you and Bubba. 😭 Until we meet again in Heaven, on the other side Hallelujah.🎶 

My dear dear cousin.  Still can't believe you made it to Heaven first. I know Uncle Lonnie and you are already dancing on streets of gold together in Heaven. Miss you sooo much, cuz. We just were trading old country songs late at nite. One of my favorite memories 😭

jammie i will miss you sooo much you was such a blessing in my life... you helped me and Michael soooooo much when we was going through the most difficult time in our life... you was always so happy your smile was contagious... you cracked us up all the time... out of no where you would say "man i got to get out of here ... you was always the one to jump to stick up for the ones you loved.... i love u more thN anything and my heart will never be home again.... i know you are watching over us... 

I have lived at Avonlea Highlands Apartments for six years and this is how I met Jammie. I found him to be a very hard working employee for Avonlea but as time  went on he became a good friend. He had a good heart! He will be missed!

Thank you for making my into the woman I am today. I will never forget how amazing you are.  Even if you did cheat at bowling...You were the most hardworking, compassionate, and trustworthy man. You will always be my daddy and I will always have a piece of my heart missing now that you're gone. I will never forget all the memories we made together and I pray that you are at peace. I love you more than words can describe. Forever and always.

We miss you so much. Thank you for taking care of me even when I pushed you away. 

So so sorry kiddos about your daddy he was so my little brother He is going to be missed so much. Wish I could take back time but I can’t. I love him so and I’ll never forget the memories I have again. I do know the serval talks on the phone he has told me he gave is like to the Lord and that alone give me so much comfort. Some Day I’ll see him again in Heaven. Love you little brother

You were an amazing man and friend that was full of life.  You were my energizer bunny always on the move.  I will always treasure our time building Halloween props for the haunted trails.  It was our favorite time of the year.  You were a proud Father and Grandfather.  Jammie we are devastated and miss those beautiful blue eyes and that contagious smile of yours.

I still can't believe you are gone.  My work life will never  be the same. You were more than a co-worker, you were a true friend.  Your bear hugs  and sweet smile could brighten the darkest days. We weathered many storms together.  Go rest east my dear friend.  I love you to the moon!

It is still hard to process the fact that you are gone. You where more than a co-worker, you where a true friend.  Avonlea Highlands lost a very dedicated hard worker. You can never be replaced.  Bailey and Bubba, your dad was so proud of you both! He talked about you both often. Please know we are here for you, if you ever need anything.  I will continue to pray for the family. I know the days ahead will be hard.  Sending love and hugs to you all. Rest easy my dear friend. I love you to the moon. 

Jammie was a great man. I have lived at Avonlea for 13 years and always found him to be very courteous and exceptionally friendly. The Avonlea community has lost a great friend. May God bless the family and know you are in our thoughts and prayers. 

We lived at Avonlea and Jammie you were the best person.  Whenever we needed something you were there to help.  We are so sorry.  You will be so missed because you worked so hard.  You were the last hard worker on that property.  Hope you had been recognized for all you did.  So sorry for your children you will be missed.

Jammie you were an amazing friend. Thank you for all our long talks. Thank you for always listening and having my back. Mostly  for being a great friend. 
Bailey and Bubba your dad always smiled when speaking of you. Always a proud Dad. He loved decorating for Halloween and Six Flags. He  has always been a respected and loved person at Avonlea.
