James Waite Wilson Jr.

Mr. Wilson was born May 21, 1938 in Fulton County, the son of the late, James Waite , Sr. and Geraldine Carney Wilson. He graduated from Carrollton High School in 1957, graduated from the University of Georgia in 1963, was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity, became a commercial construction contractor which began in sales at Wick Building Systems and was of the Presbyterian faith.

Surviving is his wife, Gwen Lambert Wilson of Rydal, children, James Wilson, III (Petra) of Atlanta, Yancey Richmond (Jim) of Charleston, South Carolina, Bethany Latta of Cartersville, Daniel Wilson of Rydal, grandchildren, Camille and Lucy Richmond, Anna, Jakub and Elishka Wilson, two brothers, Robert Wilson (Kay) of Carrollton, Ghent Wilson (Tracy) of Cartersville and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Billy Goolsby officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Rome Baptist Temple.
