Mr. Dabbs was born on February 21, 1937 in Emerson, Georgia, son of the late James Olyn and
Mattie Florence Smith Dabbs.
Mr. Dabbs retired from Union Carbide after many years of faithful service. He was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and a proud and active member of Faith United Methodist Church. Mr. Dabbs was also a long time member of the Cartersville Masonic Lodge #63. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
Mr. Dabbs is preceded in death by his son, Daniel Thomas Dabbs; brother, Rodney O. Dabbs; sister, Jean Dabbs Shellhorse; a nephew, Dave Bearden; mother and father-in-law, W.B. and Nell Womack; sister-in-law, Patricia W. Harris.
Survivors include his loving wife Nora Sue Womack Dabbs of Cartersville, Georgia; sons, William Douglas (Becky) Dabbs and James Darrell (Marilyn) Dabbs; daughter, Donna Sue Dabbs; grandchildren, Corey James and Kaylene Dabbs, Olivia Brooke Dabbs, Olyn Heath Dabbs, Riley James Dabbs, William Guerrin and Chelsea Olivia Graves; great grandson, Emmett James Dabbs; brothers- in-laws, Elmer Wayne Womack and Fred (JoAnn) Harris; sister-in-law, Debra Dabbs; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Monday the 16th of April, 2018 at Faith United Methodist Church with Rev. Charlie Marus officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers are Corey Dabbs, Olyn Dabbs, Will Graves, Riley Dabbs, Rod Dabbs, Alan Harris and Joey Womack.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock in the evening until eight on Sunday, the 15th of April, 2018 at Owen Funeral Home.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial donations may be made in Mr. Dabbs honor to the Manna Pantry at Faith United Methodist Church.
