Brad enjoyed playing youth baseball and high school basketball. He graduated from Cartersville High School in 1973, and graduated from West Georgia College, in Carrollton, Georgia in 1977, where he received his degree in Accounting. He was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity at West Georgia. He worked for Enterprise Oil Company for over 25 years in Cartersville, Lance Oil Company in Cartersville, and Specialty Finishes in Vinings. He was an active member of his community and served as Past President of the Cartersville Exchange Club. He was also a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, where he served on many youth committees, and youth mission trips.
Brad was a devoted coach for many years in the Cartersville Little League and the Cartersville Recreation Department in baseball, basketball, and girl’s softball. His favorite author was the late Southern humorist and columnist Lewis Grizzard. He loved southern gospel and country music, Cartersville Hurricanes sports, Atlanta Braves baseball, and Georgia football. He always said that watching sports was better when you were snacking on Georgia boiled peanuts!
Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He happily travelled many miles through the years just to be able to hear his children sing and lead worship at different events. He LOVED being “Papa” to his precious granddaughters who brought him so much joy!! One of the things he was most proud of was the way his children put Christ first in their lives. He led his family by example and had a great servant heart that will be missed and cherished forever.
At first most people would think Brad was very quiet and reserved, but found that he had such a fun personality and sense of humor. He always entertained his family and friends with lots of love and laughter! Brad was a dear friend to so many people, and he will always be fondly remembered by the way he lived his life, and by everyone whose lives he touched.
