Mr. Folsom was born on February 24, 1935 in Atlanta, GA, son of the late James Franklin Folsom, Sr. and Annie Bell Hall Folsom.
Mr. Folsom proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Lockheed Corporation as an aircraft painter, after seventeen years of dedicated employment. Mr. Folsom was a proud and faithful servant of the Lord and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a member of Cartersville First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Mr. Folsom was a long time member of the Nelms Masonic Lodge in Smyrna, GA. In his spare time, he enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden and tinkering on cars in his garage. He also loved watching westerns on the television. His pride and joy was spending quality time with his family and especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Buddy and Terry Folsom; sisters, Mary Eulee Collins and Shirley Ann Hubbard; brother, James Franklin Folsom, Jr.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-five years, Sylvia Keen Folsom; daughter, Cynthia Folsom Bruin (Nick); grandchildren, James Folsom (Sarah), Whitney Folsom, Jacob Folsom, Cadi and Casi Folsom; great-grandchildren, Daniel and Riley Folsom; sister, Inez Folsom Reece (Huey).
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, October 28, 2021 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Barker officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Cheatham Hill Memorial Park, Marietta, GA.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family for one hour prior to service time at Owen Funeral Home.
