Mrs. Striplin was born March 14, 1935 in Bartow County, the daughter of the late Weston H. and LaVetta Fulton Rice. Grace was retired from EZ Mills and was a long time faithful member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church.
She was a loving mother and grandmother, sister and friend. Her family was always most important to her and she loved her church. She will be missed by all, but heaven will be a brighter, happier place with her there.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph H. Striplin, her grandson, Blake Phipps, her brothers, Ralph and Bill Rice and her twin brother, Grady Rice and a sister in law, Selma Towe.
Surviving are her children, Jan and Cal Powell of Orlando, Florida, Kay and Gary Barron and Tara and Kevin Busse, all of Cartersville, Tina and Bob Hobbs of Kennesaw, grandchildren, Niki and Andre Tejeda, Ali Powell, Adam and Abby Barron, Mason Phipps, Matthew Busse, Megan and Gordon Hobbs and a great grandchild, Penelope Tejeda, sister and brother in law, Shelvy and Bill Murray, brothers and sisters in law, Winston and Gail Rice, Wayne Rice, Fulton and Lynda Rice and a sister in law and brother in law, Lewis and Kitty Worley all of Cartersville and nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Maple Ridge for their special care and compassion.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Rice and Rev. Joe McKaig officiating.
Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be sons in law, Cal Powell, Gary Barron, Kevin Busse, Bob Hobbs, grandsons, Adam Barron, Mason Phipps and Gordon Hobbs.
