Gearldine Birtie McIntyre Collum gained her angel wings November 26, 2022, she was 88 years old. She was born September 14, 1934 and raised in Bartow County, GA to James Kile (JK) McIntyre and Ollie Mae Barron McIntyre.
Gearldine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 62 years Roy Franklin Collum Sr, her grandson Byron James (BJ) Love, her sister Syble Jean Dulworth and brother- in-law Perry Fowler Dulworth Sr. Neices Terry Lynn Dulworth Scott and Yvonne Dulworth Burrell.
Gearldine and Roy moved to Atlanta after their marriage and raised their family where she worked for Cluett & Peabody (Arrow Shirts) before moving back to Bartow County in the late 70s. She then worked at Union Carbide until she retired.
She is survived to cherish her memory by her daughter’s Darlene Collum Carter (Robert) , Susan Collum Love (Byron) and her son Roy Franklin Colllum Jr (Sharon). Her special son Jon Henry Rutledge. Her grandchildren, Rob Carter, Vickie Carter, Kyle Collum Carter (Tabitha), Myra Love Gray (Kenneth), Melissa Caldron (Gino), Katie Lynn Collum and River Roy Rutledge. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Robert Carter (Kayla), Robyn Carter (Ali), Reagan Carter, and her special sweetheart Kyla Nicholle Carter. Great-great grandson Brayden Carter. Her brothers James Barron McIntyre (Mary), Randall Albert McIntyre (Linda Sue) and sister Linda Gail McIntyre Linnenkohl (Harold). Sisters-in-Law Marie Thomason, Edna Griffin, Mattie Corley, and Helen Mauldin. Brothers-in law Grady Collum (Doris) and WD Collum. Many special nieces and nephews.
As per her request a graveside service will be held for family and friends at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Georgia. She joined her husband in holy matrimony 12/13/1952 and will rejoin him in death 12/13/2022 at 10am.
