Douglas (Doug) William Wilson, age 77, of Pine Log, Georgia passed away on Wednesday September 26, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Doug was born February 12, 1941 to Roberta Hawley Wilson and William Wilson in Stockbridge, MI.
Doug was a very special man. He was the owner and operator of Wilson Pools in Cartersville, GA. Doug was a faithful leader and member of Pine Log U.M.C. and an avid sports fan. He was a loving father, husband and Papa who was known for his one of a kind personality. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Doug was preceded in death by; father William Wilson and mother Roberta Hawley Wilson.
Doug is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Wilson; daughter Amy Wilson Asbridge; son-in-law Lee Asbridge; daughter Missy Wilson Bagwell; son-in-law Jacin Bagwell; son Wade Wilson; and daughter-in-law Amie Herod Wilson; sister Donna Stephens, brother Robert "Bob" Wilson, sister Mary Jeanne Tomlin and sister Kaye Gee; grandson Cody King, grandson Chance Asbridge, granddaughter Molly Smith, granddaughter Abigail Asbridge, granddaughter Megan Smith, grandson William Wilson and grandson Benjamin Wilson.
A visitation for Doug will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Pine Log U.M.C. Tabernacle.
A celebration of life service will be conducted Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Pine Log U.M.C. Tabernacle, Rydal, GA with the Rev. Zack Townsend officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Pine Log U.M.C. Campground.
