Mr. Knox was born on December 12, 1947 in Dayton, OH, son of the late Norbert Knox and Geneva Parris Knox.
Mr. Knox proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a dedicated employee with General Motors for thirty-two years, where he was an electrical engineer. His passion was running and participating in marathons across the country. He was able to run in marathons in forty-four different states, including thirteen, 50 mile races in Maryland and Wisconsin. He and his loving wife of forty-two years, Diana Lynn Knox, traveled as far as Hawaii for him to run. He loved to work with his hands and was able to fix anything. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone around him in need.
Mr. Knox is survived by his wife; sons, James (Amy) Knox of Taylorsville, GA, Gary Gulasa of Canton, GA and Dan (Ronda) Knox, Jr. of Camden, OH; grandchildren, Dakota, Dylan, Dawson and Delaney Gulasa, Zach and Stephen Clark, Douglas and Kevin Ward, Jonathan and Jaedan Knox and Gage Grierson; brother, Marc (Edith) Knox of Dayton, OH; sister, Leah Gomph of Springfield, OH.
Graveside services will be conducted at two-thirty in the afternoon on Thursday, the 13th of October, 2016 at the GA National Cemetery with Rev. Keith Willard officiating and military honors presented.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o'clock in the afternoon until eight on Thursday, the 13th of October, 2016 at Owen Funeral Home.
