Mountain (Cobb County), GA. She was the daughter of the late Green Lee Davis and Burga
Watters Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, James Leroy Smith and
her brother and sister-in-law, Len G. & Ann Davis.
Formerly residing in the Center Community, Christine was a devoted member of the Center
Baptist Church for over 60 years. She lived by understanding God’s ways and by living an
honorable life, doing good deeds with humility. She exemplified Proverbs 31: 26-27, “When she
speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness. She carefully watches
everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness.”
Goodyear Mills was her place of employment for over 40 years. As a resident of Atco Village in
her early years, she was a loyal and dedicated employee for the company. She was also
recognized by The American Red Cross for her regular blood donations through the years,
totaling over 40 gallons.
Christine is survived by her son, Gary (Beth) Smith, Adairsville, GA; three grandchildren, Mandi
Smith, Cartersville, GA; Judson (Katie) Smith, Rydal, GA; and Mollie (Trent) Cole, Cartersville,
GA; six great-grandchildren, Mulaney, Jacey, & Sydney Tant; Madilyn & Lura Smith; and Leroy
Cole; a sister, Regina (Max) Hall, Cartersville, GA; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Jean) Smith,
Ducktown TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the wonderful staff members at The Gardens of Rome. As Christine would say,
“Hey Girl; Thank you; Love you more!”
As a result of current mandates for gatherings, a private graveside service, conducted by Rev.
Joey Phillips, will be held for the immediate family. Memorials may be made to Center Baptist
