Cecil "Bucky" Mitchell

Bucky was born on December 4, 1946 in Shady Springs, WV, son of the late Joe Ernest Mitchell and Loretta Meadows Mitchell.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Charlotte (Pat); children: Sandy (Tony) Scott, Chris (Lisa) Mitchell, Scott (Patricia) Mitchell; and grandchildren, Mitchell Scott, Lauren (Maxwell Trask) Hackney, Matthew (Samantha) Scott, Mason (Allyssa) Scott, Ian Mitchell, Katie Mitchell, Emma Mitchell, Grace Mitchell, and Deanna Mitchell; great-granddaughter, Eloise Scott; sisters, Idella (Skip) Young, Drema (Charles) Cole, Brenda Potter, Donna Cole, Melva (Meredith) Brunty.  

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Carlos and Jeff Mitchell.

Bucky enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, fishing, playing golf, making the famous “Buck’s breakfast”, and was the undisputed amateur champion of horseshoes and corn hole.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at two-thirty in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 11th of October, 2022 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Doug Belisle officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers are Tony Scott, Mitchell Scott, Mason Scott, Matthew Scott, Ian Mitchell and Max Trask.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from twelve-thirty in the afternoon until two-thirty on Tuesday, the 11th of October, 2022 at Owen Funeral Home.
