Cathy Sue Kown

Mrs. Kown was born August 4, 1954 in Bartow County, Georgia daughter of Betty Jo Wilson Tidwell and the late J.C. Tidwell. She was a life-long resident and her family and friends were her #1 priority. She loved her buddies, loved cooking, loved watching TV; soap operas and racing; enjoyed life. Didn’t take a lot to make her happy. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Kown, father, J.C. Tidwell and by her mother & father-in-law, Ray and Addie Jo Kown.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Johnny C. Kown; a daughter, Shawna Kown Abernathy; a son, Deric Scott Kown; granddaughter, Jaycee Abernathy; her mother, Betty Jo Tidwell.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon March 1st at 2:00 P.M. at the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Willard officiating. Interment will follow in the Wofford’s Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Owen Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will include Shari Stepp, Janie Jones, Debra Lunsford, Melody Pendley, Dee Bishop, Teresa Garren. Honorary pallbearers will include Ricky Stepp, Bob Mines, Dwight Vaughan, Bo Mulkey, Lamar Pendley, Jimmy Pike, Mitchell Scoggins, Rob Strickland.
