Mr. Proctor was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed playing dominos and cards on Friday nights with his loving wife of sixty years, Shelvia and their friends. He was always known for his fun sense of humor and his ability to make everyone laugh. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force where he was a aircraft radio repairman. He was a faithful employee with Clorox, formerly known as Union Carbide for thirty-seven years. He was a proud and faithful servant of the Lord and an active member of Rowland Springs Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Melanie Jean Proctor; brother, William Proctor.
Survivors include his wife, Shelvia Proctor; son, Barry (Lisa) Proctor; daughter, Sherri (Scott) Crowder; grandchildren, Robby (Marly) Proctor, Christian Proctor, Melanie Crowder, Isaac Crowder and Jordan Crowder; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at twelve o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 6th of October, 2016 at Rowland Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Ringwalt, Scott Crowder and Barry Proctor officiating. Interment will follow at two-thirty in the afternoon at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with military honors presented.
Serving as pallbearers are Robby Proctor, Christian Proctor, Isaac Crowder, Ronald Nally, Ray Glenn and Jim Moore.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o'clock in the evening until eight, on Wednesday, the 5th of October, 2016 at Rowland Springs Baptist Church.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Proctor's name to Rowland Springs Baptist Church, Building Fund.
