Mrs. Templeton was born on July 7, 1922 in Cartersville, GA, daughter of the late Charles Grady Darnell and Annie M. Nolan Darnell.
Mrs. Templeton was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was an absolutely amazing woman who was very passionate about her family and serving people and helping anyone around her in need. She enjoyed anything involving the outdoors including sitting on her porch, and tending to her gardens. She was a fantastic cook and seamstress. She is deeply missed, but will never be forgotten.
She is preceded in death by her husband of thirty-five years, George Templeton; granddaughter, Tammy Martinelli; brothers, James Henry, John, Herman and David Darnell; sister, Delia Tatum.
Survivors include her son, Scott (Joyce) Templeton; daughters, Linda (Charles) Abernathy and Elaine (Eddie) Hamilton; grandchildren, Natalie Marie Martin (Lamar Collum), Amber (Josh) Smith, Tina (Mike) Wix, Tonya (Michael) Chatwood, Teffany Schall, Mark Hamilton and his fiancé Vanessa Tackett; eighteen great- grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren; sister, Ann Jackson; sister-in-law, Lil Darnell.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, February 13, 2016 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Joe Land and Chaplain Ralph McCann officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers are Mike Wix, Michael Chatwood, Josh Smith, Doug Martinelli, Kevin Adams, Brandon Wix and Van Gilstrap.
Visitation will be held from five o’clock in the evening until eight on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Owen Funeral Home.
