Arvil Petty McElrath

was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church and loved his church family, active member of the Woodmen Life, Lodge 1152. Arvil served in the US Army with a

honorable discharge, rank as a Corpl in 1954. He went on to work at General Motors, and retired in 1990 after 36 years.

He preceded in death by his brothers, Joe McElrath, TP McElrath, Clyde McElrath, JR McElrath, Gordon McElrath and his twin brother, Marvin McElrath, his sisters;

Ava Nell Edwards, Dovie McDaniel, Mattie Orton and Pearlie Mae Mauldin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dollie Mae McElrath, son; David Arvil McElrath, daughters, Wanda (Tony) Posey, Mary (Tony) Milam, and Charlene (Barry) Green, grandchildren; Jessica (Adam) Cole, Erica Green, Amber (Hunter) Kyser, Tiffany (Nick) West, Brad (Rachael) Green and Israel Posey, great-grandchildren; Noah Cole, Joseph Cole, Taylor Beatty, Caden Green, Lottie West, Carter Green and Hudson Kyser. A host of very special nieces and nephews which he loved dearly.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
