She was born on March 20, 1934, in Bartow County to the late Mr. Jesse and Mrs. Lula Crider.
Above all else, 'Nanny,' as she was known to everyone, was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked for the Bartow County School System for over thirty years, where she drove a school bus for special needs children. She was of the Baptist faith, and was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. Nanny especially loved all of her grandchildren, most of whom she helped to raise from the time they were born. She took care of all of the children as if they were her own.
Nanny was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Jesse and Mrs. Lula Crider; her brother, Harry Crider; and her daughter, Barbara Ann Elrod Harris.
Nanny is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Mr. Roy Elrod; her sons, Ronnie (Cindy), Gary (Debbie); her son-in-law, Raymond; her grandchildren, Charmon, Natasha, Veronica, Josh, Kelly, Brian, Misty, Dusty; her great-grandchildren, Cody, A.J., Chase, Sam, Garrett, Ty, Harrison, Bentley, Avery, Easton, Alexus, Peyton, Zaydan, Dalton, Dallas, Katie, Beaux, and Addie. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A private memorial for family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
