Alvin (Junior) C. McPherson Jr.

Mr. McPherson was born June 10, 1935 in Bartow County, the son of the late, Alvin C. McPherson, Sr. and Cora Bailey McPherson, was retired from First Brands, was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Junior worshipped his four grandchildren and his life revolved around his family. He was a loving father and grandfather and a good friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joan McPherson.

Surviving is his wife of forty years, Carolyn McPherson of Cartersville, his children, Shane and Laura McPherson, Hayley and Shannon Wehunt, all of Cartersville, four grandchildren, Parker and Caroline McPherson and Jake and Marlee Wehunt, sisters, Judy knight, Janice Cochran, Joyce Scoggins, Jean Jones and his brother, Joe McPherson and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral home with Rev. Danny Willis and Rev. Bradford Thomas officiating.

Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Mauldin, Derick Mauldin, Brett Meadows, Tony Meadows, Kent Cochran, David Lanham, Jeff Duckett and Nick Rogers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Bramblett and John Hamilton.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
