Alan had a lifelong career on the sales side of the Broadcasting technology industry starting at CBS Labs in the 1960s. His clients included television and radio stations and post-production houses around the world. He was one of the original attendees of the National Association of Broadcasting (NAB) show, which he attended for 40 consecutive years before retiring, as well as a long-time member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE).
Alan was born and raised in New Jersey where he enlisted in the Air Force at 18 and served through the Cuban Missile Crisis. His work as an engineer in the Air Force led to his career in technology. Alan traveled the world extensively for work and always had a good story to tell.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Joyce Schoenberg; his daughter, Debra Schoenberg Hafner and her husband David of Utah; his son, Aaron Schoenberg and his wife, Lindsey of Utah; his brother, Robert Schoenberg and his wife Ellyn of New Jersey; and his grandsons Van Hafner (13), Colton Hafner (11), Wolfgang Schoenberg (6) and Axton Schoenberg (1).
