William “Bill” Lark Gregory, Jr. age 80 a resident of Lakeview Josey Ranch retirement village in Carrollton, TX passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019. A celebration of life graveside service will be held at 11:30 am, Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery in Grand Prairie, TX. Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Rhoton Funeral home in Carrollton, TX. Memorials may be made to the University of Arkansas Cossatot Community College in DeQueen AR the First United Methodist Church in DeQueen AR and Christ United Methodist Church in Farmers Branch TX. Bill was born April 14, 1938 in Lubbock, Texas to William “Lefty”Lark and Ella Mae (Bartlett) Gregory. He graduated from Crane High School in 1956 and from Texas Tech University in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. Bill was drafted into the army in 1962. He served in the Old Guard stationed at Arlington Cemetery in Washington, D.C. and was honorably discharged in 1964. On August 15, 1959, he married Elizabeth Ann Garner from Crane, Texas. They met when they were in grade school and were married almost 60 years. Bill, Ann and their three daughters moved to DeQueen Arkansas in 1970 where he and Ann lived for 42 years before moving back to Texas in 2012. He was employed with Weyerhaesuer for 30 years. Bill and his family were members of the First United Methodist Church in DeQueen where he was an active member on many committees in the church and community including being a member of the Board of Visitors at the University of Arkansas Cossatot Community College. After retiring, Bill and Ann traveled the country in their RV with family and friends.
Bill is survived by his wife Ann Gregory of Carrollton,TX daughters Christine Gregory of Carrollton, TX, Elizabeth Briley and her husband Graham of Norman, OK and Allison Finch and her husband Alan of Tulsa, OK grandsons, Greg Briley, Jordan Briley, Christopher Briley, Will Finch, and Josh Finch and granddaughter Page Finch and great-grandson James Briley.
