Shirley Beatrice Hoffman was born August 29, 1930 to Peter and Margaret Sawyer in Mt. Pleasant, New York. A young bride, she married Louis. Through the military they traveled the world, creating many fond memories. They lived in several states including California, Alaska, and finally settling in Carrollton, Texas. A loving and devoted mother to nine children, she always seemed to be cooking! Her most famous dishes include Chicken Paprikás, Toltott Kaposzta, Hunky Soup, brownies, snickerdoodles and Christmas cookies.
Shirley was an avid reader, & jewelry maker. Ever involved in her community, she organized the Sergeant's Wives, various church events, and she never said no to a request for help. If there was a need, Shirley filled in.
Of all the elements of her life, Shirley was most passionate about her faith, and was a strong advocate of The Chaplet of the Divine Mercy.
Shirley is preceded in death by her son Ronald Hoffman, and daughters-in-law, Margaret and Kathy Hoffman. Her legacy lives through her ardent husband Louis Hoffman. She is also survived by her sister Fran Kampersal, and her children Martin Hoffman, Daniel Hoffman, Susan Clingingsmith, Kathleen Harris, Cheryl Richards, Peter Hoffman, Michael Hoffman, and Arthur Hoffman.
